Everything you need to know about navigating the compendium, exploring visual galleries, interacting with physics simulations, and utilizing keyboard controls.

BBC Documentary Mode & Audio Engine

Experience concepts through narrated documentary audio featuring lead theoretical presenter Prof. Alistair Finch (British Academic Accent):
  • Mode Switcher: Toggle between Standard Reader, Visual Gallery, and BBC Documentary Mode via the top presentation bar.
  • Interactive Audio Controls: Start, pause, or stop the narrated audio stream. Features live equalizer frequency bars and state indicators.
  • Live Sentence-Synchronized Transcript: Follow along with highlighted sentences and human speech pauses. Click any sentence in the transcript to jump audio directly to that point.
  • Automatic Visual Sync: Switching to Documentary Mode automatically triggers the Artwork Carousel to auto-advance and sync artwork slides with narration progress.
  • ElevenLabs & Web Speech Integration: Plays pre-rendered high-definition ElevenLabs MP3s, supports live ElevenLabs API key streaming, and includes browser Web Speech synthesis as a zero-latency fallback.

Interactive Physics Calculators

Select concepts feature custom interactive simulations embedded in their Physics Analysis deep-dive:
  • Concept 02 (Warp Field Dynamics): Interactive warp velocity ($v/c$) and exotic energy stress-tensor generator.
  • Concept 03 (Gravitational Wave Engineering): Quantum state superposition & strain amplitude simulator.
  • Concept 04 (Wormhole Topology): Traversable Throat & Exotic Matter Calculator — adjust throat radius $b_0$, speed $v/c$, and redshift gradient $|\Phi'|$ to compute exotic mass requirements in Jupiter ($M_J$) and Earth ($M_\oplus$) mass equivalents, proper transit times, and peak tidal forces ($g$'s).

Mathematics Engine & MathML

Mathematical formulas are rendered via two complementary high-performance systems:
  • KaTeX HTML: Powers the main signature equation hero at the top of each concept.
  • Native Browser MathML: Powers deep-dive equations inside Physics Analysis components, providing native browser vector rendering without relying on external web fonts.
